A SUMMER fair held on the children’s ward at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital was hailed a huge success and has raised enough money to buy an iPad for use by young patients.
The sun shone on the event, which was held in the courtyard play area at the Belvedere Road site, and the indoor play room off the main children’s wards.
Attractions included a tombola, a raffle, cake stall and refreshments, face painting, hook-a-duck and games.
Staff had organised the event and were delighted with the numbers who attended including staff, patients and visitors.
A spokesman from the hospital said: “We would like to thank everyone who came along and gave so generously and to the League of Friends who have also been very supportive and ran a raffle for us on the day.
“I am sure the iPad will be really popular with children staying in hospital.”
