webpicTHE jobs market in East Staffordshire has continued to grow over the last quarter, according to a new report.
The report, by recruiter Manpower, said the job market increased by nine per cent in the previous quarter.
The region’s outlook has steadily increased quarter on quarter since the middle of last year, the report said.
But it called the job market in South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire ‘a mixed bag’ as the East Midlands’ job market only rose by five per cent in the same period.
The region’s industrial sector struggled with a shortage of jobs.
The survey was based on responses from 2,100 UK employers about whether they intended take on staff or reduce the size of its workforce.
Gregg Hollis, operations manager at Manpower, said: “Hiring sentiment remains positive across the East Midlands, albeit down slightly on the last quarter, and we are seeing some genuine growth in certain sectors.
“There is growth in the business and finance services where we are witnessing a huge increase in the short term pay day loan market.”
