A roundabout way of getting it right

I READ your story ‘Move for mini roundabout after maxi traffic problems’ (Burton Mail, August 30).

Too right. The mini island in Newhall Road is in the wrong place.

It should be at the junction of Midland Road and Civic Way.

That’s where it is difficult to join Civic Way from Midland Road —and not just at peak times.

I know it’s a staggered junction but they do work. There’s one in Moira and one in Ashby that have been very successful.

Are the people who think up these plans actual road users? I think not.
