Hoping your campaign is a success

I’D like to place on record my support of your campaign to stop the residents of Elizabeth Court losing their homes.

Many of these people have lived there for decades. They are happy in their surroundings, a secure close-knit little community in its own right.

It would have been a bitter blow for people of a much younger generation to suddenly learn they were going to have to move out. But in the case of the vast majority of Elizabeth Court residents this is even more challenging because of their advancing years. Several are in their 80s or 90s.

At their time of life, they should be left alone to see out their twilight years in comfort, peace and happiness.

Instead, they face an uncertain future, worry and anxiety.

Where is the compassion of Anchor Trust? Should the balance sheet take priority over the welfare of these people? I wish your campaign every success.

Stop the closure now, please.
