Stanhope views 'put Jim out on a limb'

ALTHOUGH I have great respect for parish councillor Jim Muir, I think he has put himself out on a limb with his views on the saving of the Margaret Stanhope Centre.

I have nothing against people signing the petitions as individuals, but I disagree with his statement about the cost of the Margaret Stanhope.

It is different to the others in Tamworth and Stafford as South Staffordshire and Shropshire NHS Foundation Trust does not own the Margaret Stanhope and has to pay rent for the building.

There is overwhelming cross-party support for a secure mental health building to stay in the Burton area.
