We couldn't ask for more from care home

I HAVE never written to a newspaper before, but I was so shocked to read the report about Lorraine’s care home in the Burton Mail that I felt I must put pen to paper on this occasion.

Three years ago my aunt’s physical health meant she was at risk in her own home, so she reluctantly had to sell it to provide the money to finance her stay in a care home.

She chose Lorraine’s Residential Care Home in Church Gresley, and from day one has never had any regrets.

I visit her every week, on different days, and have got to know the staff very well. I have found the staff to be the most caring, helpful and compassionate people you could ever wish to know.

Whatever time of day or night she rings her bell, they are at her bedside immediately.

She feels safe there and nothing is too much trouble for them.

She looks on the staff as her family and says she couldn’t wish for better treatment.

If she was not happy, she would ask me to move her somewhere else, which I would do instantly, and if I thought she wasn’t getting the very best care and attention I wouldn’t let her stay.

I have found that the resident welfare has always been the staff’s priority.

My aunt still says that when she moved into Lorraine’s Residential Care Home, it was the best decision she ever made.
