What is the matter with these people?

IN September a water firm carried out work outside my house and damaged my garden in the process.

After three months of hassle they agreed to rectify the damage as long as I got two estimates.

No problem, I thought.

The first landscape gardener came before Christmas to give me an estimate.

I’m still waiting.

The second came in the New Year and said he would email me a quote. I’m still waiting.

The third came and said he would post an estimate. Again, I’m still waiting.

The fourth and fifth never even turned up.

What conclusion can we come to? Are these gardeners too busy to bother, too idle to bother, do not want any agency to know about them in case they find they are on the fiddle, or are making too much money to bother about a job that would take about three days? What a sad indictment of the workforce of today.

Can anybody shed any light on what is the matter with these people? Name and address supplied
