LICENSING bosses with South Derbyshire District Council will decide whether or not to grant licences to a garage and a supermarket this week.
Dove Garages Ltd, in High Street, Melbourne, and the Aldi Store in Huntspill Road, Hilton have made the applications.
Councillors on the district council’s licensing and appeals sub-committee will make their decision when they meet in the council chamber, Swadlincote, at 10am on Wednesday, August 21.
In a report which will go before the committee, Gemma Goodwin, of the professional licensing firm Licensing Matters, said staff at Dove Garages should receive refresher training every six months, if the license is granted.
She also said Ministry of Defence identity cards should not be accepted as staff would know what they look like making it hard to identify a fake.
