THE MP for South Derbyshire has said she is ‘delighted’ that sales of 63 plate vehicles have boosted the September sales market.
A total of 403,000 of the most recent vehicles have been registered since they started to roll off the production line last month with more than one in seven new cars now built in the UK.
South Derbyshire MP Heather Wheeler said: “South Derbyshire has a wealth of knowledge on its doorstep, with wonderful companies like Toyota working hard to boost the local and national economies.
This amazing number of car sales is clear evidence that the economy is turning round and I am so proud to be part of a Government that has worked hard to fix our economic troubles.”
Mrs Wheeler also said she was pleased to hear the average CO2 emissions from new cars are now 128.6g per kilometre.
She said: “It is thanks to our companies’ brilliant research and development departments, staffed by our talented apprentices and graduates that innovative ideas are being implemented all the time.”
