A DRUNKEN sex pest who groped a pregnant woman walked free from a court after escaping with a suspended jail sentence.
Car washer Romanas Mazrimas put his arm around the woman as she left a shop in Burton and tried to kiss her, Stafford Crown Court heard.
When the defendant put his hand on her bottom, the victim – who was 11 weeks pregnant – pushed him away, ran home and burst in to tears.
Ten months after her ordeal, Mazrimas was seen walking down Waterloo Street in Burton – wearing nothing but a dressing gown, with his private parts on open display.
Joanne Wallbanks, prosecuting, said 28-year-old Mazrimas was ‘flashing’ at passers-by until he came to a group of three 13-year-old boys whom he chased down the street for a short distance.
Mazrimas, 28, of Casey Lane, Burton, admitted sexual assault on the woman on October 27 2012 and indecent exposure on August 10 last year.
He was given a ten week prison sentence suspended for a year, ordered to do 150 hours unpaid community work and to pay £260 costs, plus £80 surcharge.
He was also put on the sex offenders’ register.
Judge Mark Eades told him: “These offences have a common theme, committed in a public place when you were drunk.
Steve Hennessy, defending, told the judge: “He was so drunk he could barely remember the events at all.
“There is no suggestion it was motivated by sexual gratification.
“He has curbed his alcohol intake, he appreciates his behaviour in respect of these offences is intolerable and he is appropriately ashamed of himself.”
Mazrimas has a partner who is expecting a baby later this year.
