Man suffered heart attack at wheel
A 73-YEAR-OLD man who died at the wheel of his car last week has been named by road crash investigators.
It is believed Harold Gould had a heart attack while driving his green Ford Fusion car at 6.10pm on Friday.
Mr Gould, who lives in Burton, drove the car into a lamppost just outside Burton Railway Station after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him at the scene but he was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Burton’s Queen’s Hospital.
The vehicle was travelling in Borough Road towards the town centre when it mounted the kerb and crashed into the lamppost.
The road was closed while crash investigators from Staffordshire Police carried out a forensic investigation.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to contact Staffordshire Police by dialling 101, quoting incident number 577 of February 3.
