PARAMEDICS rushed to the aid of man who suffered a head injury in Burton.
The man hit his head on the floor after having what was described as a ‘medical episode’ outside Burton Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Police officers were on hand to direct traffic in Horninglow Street following the incident at around 11.30am, as a rapid response vehicle was blocking the road, near to where the man lay motionless outside the town’s court.
Witnesses described seeing a man lying on the ground with a bandage wrapped around his head.
With the road partly blocked, traffic quickly backed up along the main road towards Burton Bridge.
Emergency crews were on the scene for around an hour attending to the injured man.
Despite suffering a head wound after the fall, the man was treated at the scene by paramedics and did not need to be taken to hospital.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were in attendance for around an hour.
“It appears the patient had a medical episode.
“He suffered a small head wound and was treated and discharged.”
The spokesman said further details were confidential.
