Moped rider taken to hospital following collision

A 59-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital this morning following a collision between a moped and a car.

The incident happened at the junction of Shobnall Road and Grange Street in Burton at 11.35am.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, which attended the scene, said: "A 59-year-old woman who had been riding the moped was treated at the scene for injuries to the left side of her chest. She was put on a spinal board and transferred to Burton's Queen's Hospital."

The woman was not thought to have sustained serious injuries.
