TWO in three people receive at least one gift that they don’t want every Christmas, according to new research by the British Heart Foundation shop in Burton.
The onesie came out top of the charts, with over a third of people admitting this would be their most unwanted gift, according to staff at the Station Street site.
Coming in at a close second was celebrity weight loss DVDs followed by the Christmas jumper.
Other unwanted items include a celebrity cook book and socks.
A spokesman for the branch said: “We are urging the public to donate their unwanted Christmas gifts this year to help fund life-saving research in the fight for every heartbeat.
“Unwanted presents provide valuable stock and last year we received a surge in donations of candles, toiletries, clothing, accessories, books and DVDs.”
It is believed that around 64 per cent of people received at least one Christmas gift that they did not like this year.
