SHOUTS of ‘one, two, three’ were heard ringing around South Derbyshire at fund-raising amateur wrestling event.
A crowd of more than 150 packed into Martial Sports Gym, based in Sharpes Industrial Estate, Swadlincote, to see a host of trainee wrestlers battle it out to see who would be crowned heavyweight champion.
Spectators were treated to a host of flying moves from clotheslines, power bombs to top rope elbows to piledrivers.
The event was organised to help raise funds to help renovate a new room at the facility.
Jamie Fearn, from Martial Sports Gym, told the Mail that people had had a ‘great time’ at the wrestling showcase.
He told the Mail: “I came up with the idea as we needed to raise some funds and thought it would be fun.
“I run a sideline called Martial Sports Pro Wrestling and trained up some friends and instructors beforehand.
“We treated the spectators to a range of matches before everyone piled into the ring for a battle royal.
“Everyone had such a great time.”
