The Hartshorne First Club and Scouts had applied to their local councillor, Pat Murray, who represents the village on Derbyshire County Council.
Councillor Murray was successful in applying for the grant, and said: “They applied to my community chest fund for a donation because they had been given a donation of tents when they first started up, but they have been going for about three-and-a-half years and the tents are deteriorating.
“They asked if I could get some money from my community chest and it means they can continue their work outdoors all seasons.
“They will buy one large tent so they can get together, and 10 smaller tents.”
