PARENTS of children due to start secondary school in North West Leicestershire next year are being reminded it is vital that their applications are received on time.
Application packs will be delivered to houses in the district from this week.
Parents have until October 31 to return completed applications and have been warned that their child faces missing out on their preferred choice of school if applications are not received by that date.
Parents applying for schools outside their catchment area have also been urged to make sure they also apply closer to home.
Ivan Ould, of Leicestershire County Council cabinet, said: “It is very important that all parents apply on time.
“Last year, we were very successful in meeting parents’ preferences but as always, late applicants run the risk of disappointment as schools do become full.”
