PATIENTS are set to be quizzed by top bosses at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital in a bid to discover their opinions and experiences following visits.
Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has revealed that it has drawn up a survey for all patients to complete on the quality of care received during stays at the Belvedere Road site.
It was also announced that Paula Gardner, the trust’s deputy director of nursing, will be visiting patient and community groups during November and December to listen to what people have to say about their experiences at the hospital.
She said: “To ensure that any plans to improve the trust reflect the views and experience of the local population, we will use the information gathered from surveys and feedback sessions to help the trust identify key areas for development during next year.”
The surveys will also see people asked about what they want to see improve at the site and also ask what they think staff are already doing well.
The results of the feedback and the priorities for improvement will be published in a ‘Quality Account’ report for the trust in July 2014.
The report for patients, carers, the public and other organisations working in health and social care will include three types of information covering patient safety, the standards of care patients can expect and what patients and carers say about services.

A spokesman for the trust said: “It is entirely anonymous. No personal details are gathered and comments will not be passed on to other agencies.”
