STAFFORDSHIRE Police stepped up their continued pressure on drug dealers when they arrested eight people during another major operation in Burton today.
Seven men, aged 23 to 45, and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A or Class B drugs and taken to custody for interview following a series of dawn raids. All have now been charged with drug-related offences.
The early morning raids are part of Operation Nemesis – the force’s ongoing drive to tackle drug dealers and bring them to justice.
Chief Inspector Steve Maskrey, local policing team commander for East Staffordshire, said: “We made a clear commitment to our communities that we will continue to rid the streets of major drug dealers.
“This is the third large-scale operation so far this year but our fight against these criminals is ongoing.”
