Police at the scene of a robbery at the Co-op in WillingtonMASKED raiders have escaped with cash after holding up a supermarket in a South Derbyshire village.
Three raiders with their faces covered entered the Co-op store in The Castle Way, Willington, at 6.40am today (Thursday, December 13) and demanded cash from two employees.
After staff handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the raiders are believed to have escaped in a vehicle. No further details of the offenders or their getaway car are available at present. Derbyshire Police said no weapon had been used.
Police cordoned off the store and the adjacent Green Close while scenes of crime officers arrived at the store at 9.10am. The shop was expected to remain closed for a further one or two hours.
