POSTAL services in South Derbyshire beat their delivery targets for the last three quarters of 2012, according to a new report.
Royal Mail delivered 94.2 per cent of its first class mail, and 98.6 per cent of its second class mail, on time between April and December 2012.
Standard retail parcels were also ahead of target with 90 per cent delivered within three working days.
The figures have come from an independent report based on 130,000 sample letters and parcels sent to 5,400 addresses in the DE postcode area.
Paul Whitehouse, Royal Mail delivery director for Derbyshire said: “We are pleased that we are continuing to deliver high quality services to our customers in the DE postcode area.
“Our postmen and women deliver to some of the most demanding quality of Service standards in Europe.”
