TEENAGE pregnancy is continuing to fall across Leicestershire, it has been revealed.

Figures released by the Government showed that teenage pregnancies were at their lowest rate for nine years, and figures remained significantly lower than the national average at 25.4 per 1,000, and reveal a drop of more than 30 per cent in under-18 conception rates compared to 1998.

Mike Sandys, chairman of the Leicestershire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership, said: “We are delighted to see a further reduction in rates.

“Our approach involves a range of partners and a variety of activity and this news is a credit to everyone involved.”
