Pub given four stars for food

Written byBY HELEN KREFT

A PUB has been awarded four out of five stars following a food hygiene inspection.

The Derby Inn, in Derby Road, Burton, was visited by the environmental health team from East Staffordshire Borough Council on January 15.

Through the authority’s Rate my Place scheme, the pub was given four stars.

The team inspected the kitchen, cellar, bar, and storeroom of the pub.

They noted that it was not clear what food was for personal use and what was for the bar so the pub has been asked to make the distinction clear to ensure that proper stock rotation takes place.

It was also told to clean the ceiling of the microwave as it was dirty, and also clean the outside of a stainless steel bin.

The inspectors were pleased to see that staff were recording temperature checks and cleaning.
