Reindeer add a festive touch to open day

Written byLAURA HAMMOND

SANTA’S reindeer took a break from their Christmas preparations to pop into a festive fun day at Bayley’s of Rosliston.

Two adorable deer dropped into the Linton Road site to delight visitors to the outdoor and agricultural store, which was holding an open day to celebrate its recent refurbishment and thank customers for their loyalty.

Staff also wanted to help people to get into the festive spirit with an open day, which raised money for charity as well.

The deer were joined by Father Christmas, who spent the day in his grotto chatting to children and giving them presents.

Other animals were also on hand to give the day a fun twist, with owls and eagles offering something different for visitors to see.

Cuddles, a golden eagle, thrilled guests young and old with his antics, which were helped along by his handler Wayne Chesterton.

Dark-breasted barn owl Dusty also added to the featured fun. He was joined by handler Emma Lewis.

Bayley’s of Rosliston has been open since 1969, and provides a wide range of products for agricultural traders and members of the public.

It is run by Bayley’s Dairy Engineers, which is based in Hulland Ward, near Ashbourne.
