MOTORCYCLISTS are being encouraged to take part in Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership’s Rider Skills Challenge.

The free event is being hosted by Triskelion Motorcycle Training, in Chesterfield, on Sunday, April 14, and the first 48 people to register on the day will get to compete.

Andy Adlington, the partnership’s motorcycle project officer, said: “The challenge tests a rider’s ability to manoeuvre safely in real-life situations like when you’re at an awkward junction or travelling through heavy traffic.”

On the day of the Rider Skills Challenge, the centre will open at 9am. Places will be allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.

Participants must bring along a road-worthy bike, a full motorcycle licence and suitable safety gear.
