Roger Bullivant gives prize money to charity

AN award-winning business has been given a cash prize to donate to a charity of its choice.

Roger Bullivant Lt won The e5 Supplier Quarter Award for its work on the £300,000 piling project to allow MWH Treatment Ltd to support new sewage structures at Clay Mills Sewage Treatment Works, in Stretton.

As a result, the company has been awarded with £500 and has donated the cash to St Giles Hospice.

Patrick Hefferman, project manager for MHW Treatment Ltd, advised at tender stage that a sustainable, zero-tolerance to waste was of paramount importance to the project which including the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and testing of 1,381 permanent piles at Clay Mills, produced at its factory in Walton Road, Drakelow.

The existing soil - which was inadequate was treated with Roadcem - a soil stabilisation product.

This system was chosen, as it not only reduced concrete waste on site but eliminated the need for spoil removal, dramatically reducing lorry movements over the railway line and into Derby Road.
