SIR ALEX AT THE FA CENTRE United boss on the future of the game

THE League Managers Association (LMA) hosted the first European managers and coaches forum at St George’s Park, bringing together high profile British managers and overseas head coaches to discuss and share information on important issues affecting football.

Sir Alex Ferguson and chairman of the LMA Howard Wilkinson were present at the inaugural event along with a host of high profile British and overseas head coaches, to discuss and share insight and information on the most important issues affecting football and the modern day manager.

The Manchester United manager spoke of his delight at his role and the importance of the LMA in helping young and gifted coaches to develop by sharing knowledge and experience to assist the on-going evolvement of football.

He said: “The work we undertake at the LMA is extremely important. Within our ranks we have an array of gifted managers both past and present with vast experience and a wealth of knowledge to share.

“We all have a role to play in helping to develop younger managers who are just starting or trying to get their first step on the managerial ladder.”
