A SNOOKER legend was on hand to help an East Staffordshire firm celebrate 33 years in business and the opening of its new look factory.
Willie Thorne helped Specialised Orthotic Services’s managing director Gordon McQuilton kick off a day of celebration at the firm’s based in the Fauld Industrial Estate, in Tutbury.
The firm specialises in designing, manufacturing and distributing of standard and custom moulded seating.
The event was organised to official open an extension at the firm’s factory.
Mr McQuilton told the Mail: “I would like to thank all the team at SOS for working so hard to make the event a celebration of SOS and all the great work that it has done over many years.”
The firm started life in Mr McQuilton’s garden shed before moving to premises in Weston on Trent before finding its home in Tutbury.
His work in helping disabled people was honoured with an MBE in 2008.
He said: “I received the award not just for myself but for all of SOS all the people who have over the years contributed to its success.”
