'He had everything he wanted and everything to live for'

CONNOR Upton was the youngest of four siblings — a loving son, a devoted father, a loyal partner and someone who was greatly loved by everyone who knew him.

According to his mum, Yvonne, he had everything to live for before his life was tragically taken.

Just before Connor died he had everything he really wanted in life, she said — his own little family, his girlfriend Leanne, a nice house and good friends.

“He was so proud of the work he did around the house, he used get me to nip round to have a look at the blinds he’d put up or the work he’d done in the garden,” she said.

Described by his mum as ‘comical’, Connor developed a huge passion for boxing when he was only eight.

“On his 10th birthday I took him to his first boxing class and he loved it.

“He had his first fight when he was 11 and went on to win numerous titles including the Midlands Champion.

“We never missed one of his fights and travelled all over the country and even to Ireland to support him.”

Connor, who also loved his car and fishing, left school at 14 and started roofing — something he also really enjoyed with his brother, Shane.
