SAFETY railings to prevent pedestrians walking into a busy main road have now been installed.
Mother of twins, Gillian Cotter, recently hit out at Staffordshire County Council which failed to put down traffic cones on the A444 Stanton Road, Stapenhill, to allow pedestrians to walk safely in the road to avoid pavement maintenance works.
Now, following a progress inspection conducted yesterday, the council has now put railings.
A spokesman for the council said: “We have put some railings up on the road that people can walk along.
“It is impossible to do along the whole section because of driveways but there will be workers helping to direct people along the closed section.”
