School delight at tree planting grant for wood
PUPILS at a Burton school have been getting their fingers dirty by having to plant a new wood.
Youngsters at Edge Hill School, in Stapenhill, have received a grant from The Woodland Trust to plant 400 hundred trees.
A spokesman for the school said: “We started life as a forest school in September, which has proved to be a huge success, the children love it, learning personal, social and technical skills in a natural environment.”
The whole school got involved in planting hazel, hawthorn, oak, silver birch and blackthorn trees.
