STAFF and residents at Branston Court Nursing Home in Burton are taking steps to raise money to support research and care for people suffering from Alzheimer’s.
The home, in Branston Road, has organised a sponsored community Memory Walk, as part of a national initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society every year in association with Bupa Care Services.
Members of the community are being urged to take part in the walk, which is due to take place around Stapenhill Gardens on Thursday, September 26.
Manager Donna Sealey said: ““We are all in the process of getting our walking boots –and sticks – at the ready.
“Memory Walk is a worthy cause for our local people to get involved with and I’m sure everyone, no matter what their age, will have a great time at these fun, social events. We hope as many people as possible will join us to take part.”
The walk will begin at 2pm.
It is the third time this national event has taken place.
