DANCERS with a South Derbyshire dance school have received a £500 grant to cover competition costs.
The Yorkshire Bank awarded Christina’s School of Dance (pictured) the money after the parents of one of the dancers submitted an application.
The money will now go towards travel expenses when the school competes in the UK Street Dance Championships in Harrow on November 2.
The competition marks the start of a busy end of year for the school, which will also attend the Soar Street Dance Championships in Manchester, on November 17, and the World Street Dance Championships in Stoke, on December 1.
Christina Drew, who runs the school, told the Mail: “It’s essential we get this funding.
“We would not be able to do the competitions without backing from the community and local businesses.”
