A SOUTH Derbyshire business has chosen a Staffordshire hospice as its main charitable cause for 2013.
Door distributer JB Kind, based in Hearthcote Road, Swadlincote, will donate thousands of pounds to St Giles Hospice, in Whittington.
Last year the business donated £6000 to charity, including the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Support.
JB Kind’s managing director James Cadman said: “St Giles Hospice was chosen because of the vital and inspiring work that it undertakes to support people with serious illnesses.
“St Giles has an excellent ethos of care and the services that they provide to individuals and their families are crucial.
“St Giles needs £22,000 every day in order to provide care to all that require it, and without donations people in need would have nowhere to turn.”
Helen Relihan, head of fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said: “Having the support of JB Kind means such a lot to everyone at the hospice as this year we celebrate our 30th anniversary.
“We are looking forward to seeing and hearing about their wacky fundraising events as they take place throughout the coming year.”
Last year ten employees from JB Kind, which employs 45 people, parachuted from a plane cruising at 13,000 feet in a bid to raise money for charity.
