BARGAIN-hunters headed to St Paul’s Church in Burton at the weekend to rifle through the stalls and find a steal at a table top sale.
Members of the public flocked to the church on King Edward Place to have a look at what was on offer at the charity event, which was being held to raise money for the church’s renovation fund.
A total of £241 was raised through the event on Saturday morning, as many stall holders turned out to pedal their wares to visitors to this historic church.
A spokesman for the church committee said all people involved were very pleased with the outcome.
The event was one of a series of fund-raising activities taking place at the town centre church over the coming months.
Money raised will go towards fixing the roof and the floor at the building in what will be the first major renovation project to take place there since the church as first built by the Bass family more than 150 years ago.
It is also hoped the activities will allow more of the community to see the church.
