POLICE are appealing for information after thieves armed with crowbars snatched a large amount of cash following a raid on a village store.

Staff at the Co-op store in Common Lane, Fradley, were forced into a store room by four men who entered the store shortly after 6am this morning, before making off with a significant haul of cash.

Staff were left shaken following the incident but nobody was injured.

Police are now appealing for information to help track down the robbers who were all wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

The men escaped in a white Audi A3 with tinted windows in which it is believed a fifth man had been waiting inside.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Graham Tomlinson at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 77 of June 26, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
