VIDEO - police appeal after town centre fight


OFFICERS investigating an attack in a town centre have released CCTV footage of the incident in a bid to identify one of the suspects.

The incident, which took place in Market Street, Ashby, involved a number of people and resulted in two people being injured.

A 21-year-old man was knocked unconscious during the incident and received minor injuries and a 41-year-old man also received minor injuries.

Three men, aged 21, 25 and 30, have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

PC Anne Keeling, who is investigating the incident, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into the incident and have made some arrests in connection with the altercation, however we are trying to identify a suspect who punched one of the victims.

“He has been described as a white man, around 6ft tall, of stocky muscular build, with dark hair which was receding on top. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt and cream or beige trousers with black boots.

“If you recognise him or have any suspicions about who this may be please contact us. Even if you’re not 100 per cent sure we would still like to speak to you.”

The incident happened at 2.45am on Sunday, October 6, but details have just been released.
