STAFFORDSHIRE is one of 13 areas which will roll out video technology in its court service this year, a justice minister has revealed.
It will mean quick and effective justice as court appearances will take place via video-link technology saving police and court time.
The region is one of 13 areas across England and Wales to launch this new scheme, where technology will allow police officers to give evidence in court from the station.
Video appearances save in transport costs and a reduction in prisoner movements.
Justice Minister Damian Green said: “We want the justice system to respond more effectively to the needs of victims, witnesses and professionals.”
