PAUL Peschisolido has pledged not to break up Burton Albion's title-winning squad.
180509 Peschisolido2 The new Pirelli Stadium boss went straight from his press conference to address players and open talks about new contracts for next season.
"As far as the players are concerned, I don't really want to say too much until we've sat down and spoken to them," he said
"But what I can say is that the squad here won promotion and are on the crest of a wave, so we don't want to come in and completely derail what has been built.
"We're happy with the squad and there will be two or three additions."
Albion currently have only two players on contract for next season full-back Aaron Webster and top scorer Greg Pearson and need to replace player of the year Jake Buxton, who last week joined former boss Nigel Clough at Derby County.
Peschisolido said: "We have a lot of work to do, starting with meeting and talking to the players and finding what their thoughts are and what they expect from the new season.
"Then it will be a case of organising pre-season, looking at staff issues, bringing in players and making loan signings.
"It's a long process, but we've got quite a few weeks to get things organised.
"One thing I'll guarantee is that come August 8 we will be raring to go."
Peschisolido declined to discuss his plans for a new backroom team.
He said: "We'll assess the backroom requirements as we go along because we feel we're more then capable of taking control ourselves at the minute."
However, his priority before the players start pre-season training will be to replace Matt Brown.
Albion's long-serving physio yesterday started his new job with Derby County, where he joins coaches Gary Crosby, Martin Taylor and Andy Garner from Clough's old backroom team at the Pirelli Stadium.
