A PARISH council is to spend more than £500 on repairs for a community hall.
Members of Goseley community centre, in Hartshill Road, Hartshorne, have made an application for repairs to Hartshorne Parish Council.
Parish councillors have been told that the centre’s children’s play area is dangerous and needs taking out, but it will cost an estimated £1,080 to complete the work.
The centre has also spent £245 on the car park.
Councillor Doug Jenkinson, of the parish council, suggested that the council donated half of the cost - £540.
Pat Murray, who represents Hartshorne on Derbyshire County Council, said: “The village hall is well kept and if members of the committee didn’t put in the hard work they do, then it would be costing a lot more.
“It is money well spent.”
