A REMINDER is being sent out by a council that offers which seem too good to be true probably are as part of national Scams Awareness Month.
Starting on Friday, Staffordshire County Council trading standards officers will be issuing reminders on typical scams, which are being made increasingly online. They will also be advising people on how to avoid telephone and postal scams and how to beat conmen and rogue traders.
Pat Corfield, Staffordshire County Council’s communities leader, said: “We would ask people always to be wary of offers for money, including tax reimbursements, or seemingly great deals on products. People should never give personal details – particularly their bank details.”
