AQUA fun will be had by water babies at a special Splashathon class in Stretton raising money for charity.

The classes will see waves of tiny babies and toddlers carrying out challenges this month to raise money for the baby charity Tommy’s, helping mothers have a healthy pregnancy and prevent complications such as miscarriages.

Tiny babies will each be set a fun challenge by their teacher that they’ve never completed before, such as doing a glide swim underwater or swimming through a hoop, while older babies and toddlers might raise money by swimming as far as they can underwater independently.

Cathy Wright, who runs the classes, said: “Tommy’s is one of the few organisations dedicated to funding medical research into the causes of such tragedies and we are so excited to be helping them for a fifth year.”

Splashathons will be taking place during Water Babies classes at Fountains Primary School, in Bitham Lane, on Sunday, July 21, from 9.15am to 12.15pm, and 2.30pm to 5pm.
