Winner Claire shows her flair

A BURTON student has shown off her artistic talent by landing the opportunity to have her design used for a major fund-raising campaign.

Claire Bond, a student at Abbot Beyne School, in Winshill, has had her design chosen to be displayed as the logo for Burton Queen’s Hospital’s campaign to raise funds for a new computed tomography (CT) scanner.

Youngsters from schools throughout Burton took part in the competition, with first place being won by Claire and second place by Annisa Mehmood, who is also an Abbot Beyne student.

Year 10 student Claire said: “I am really happy that I won the logo competition. I didn’t expect to win but I’m glad I did.

“My logo design idea was based on the heart monitor machine, a heart and the pound sign to show the fund-raising.”

Co-ordinator of art Shaun Randall said: “I’m really proud of their achievements and the high standard of the work produced by all the members of the group.”
