Woman cut out after car overturns

A WOMAN had to be cut out of her car following an accident near Burton.

The car flipped onto its roof after the driver lost control in Dunstall Road, Barton under Needwood, last night.

The car left the road during icy conditions around 8.30pm and was freed by fire crews.

The woman, in her 30s, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Inspector Tyrone Kerr, of Staffordshire Police said: “The car overturned onto its roof after leaving Dunstall Road.

“After initial concern her condition is not though to be life-threatening. Her family are aware and are in attendance at the hospital.”

Meanwhile, an ambulance was called following a two-car smash in Burton this morning.

A Ford and a Saab were involved in the collision in Wellington Road at 10.30am.

Both drivers were checked over by paramedics at the scene but neither required hospital treatment.
