YOUNGSTERS attending the Derby County Talent Identification Programme (TIPS) at the Pingle School have been lending a helping hand to a charity bike ride taking place at the school.

The TIPS programme aims to provide the opportunity for young players in South Derbyshire to benefit from advanced coaching offered by Derby County Community Trust.

When the youngsters heard about the around the world in 80 school days fund-raiser at the Swadlincote school, they wanted to join in the adventure.

Richard Mansfield, participation manager at Derby County Community Trust, said: “ Our relationship with Pingle is a long standing one where we jump at the chance to take part in the life of the school. The around the world in 80 school days is great.”
