LABOUR'S prospective parliamentary candidate for North West Leicestershire has joined the latest craze by taking part in the ALS ice bucket challenge.
Jamie McMahon was nominated for the charity challenge by his friends and family.
He completed the task of having icy water poured over his head before donating money to help people with motor neurone disease.
After completing his challenge, Jamie said: "Working for a charity I know how difficult it can be to get noticed.
"It's brilliant that a cause such as this has come up with a great way to grab people's attention. However, as well as doing the challenge it is important people donate money.
"It wasn't the warmest of Saturdays in Coalville but that didn't matter. It's all for a good cause."
Jamie has nominated his Tory rival, Andrew Bridgen, to take the challenge next.
The North West Leicestershire candidates will face each other in the next General Election.
