THE manager of a Hatton day nursery has paid tribute to her staff following their latest Ofsted report, adding that they are determined step up even further next time.

Brookfields Day Nursery in Station Road was given a rating of ‘good’ following an inspection on March 5.

The report noted that the support given to children by staff means that they are achieving well within the nursery’s surroundings.

This included ‘exciting and challenging’ activities that fully engage the children and support their learning.

The report also praised the management for the emphasis placed on developing an effective partnership with parents, stating that ‘consequently, parents feel confident with the care and learning their children receive, and children benefit from the security that this provides’.

The nursery’s eating plan also received positive recognition with the report commending staff on giving children healthy snacks and meals which are freshly cooked on the premises.

Manager Elly Ward told the Mail: “We’re really pleased with the report we received and it’s a credit to all the staff who work so hard for us.

“We moved from Etwall six months ago and we’re happy that we’re continuing to maintain our reputation with parents.”

“We’re always willing to take feedback on board from both our parents and Ofsted to see how we can improve and we’ll be striving to get an ‘outstanding’ rating from our next inspection.”
