THOUSANDS of music fans are preparing to pack their shades, wellies and hand gel before flocking to one of the country’s most famous festivals.
Scores of pop lovers, indie worshippers and dance enthusiasts from Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire, and all other parts of the country, are getting ready to spend three nights under canvas.
V Festival 2013 will get underway this Friday, when Weston Park in Stafford will fill up fast with folk who are keen to catch their favourite artists performing live.
This year’s impressive line up features Stereophonics, Emeli Sande, The Vaccines, Calvin Harris, Rudimental, Basement Jaxx and Rita Ora, who will all take to the stages in Stafford on Saturday and then on Sunday ticket holders can expect to enjoy the likes of The Script, Jessie J, Two Door Cinema Club, Paloma Faith, The Courteeners, Steve Angello, Fun, Jessie Ware, Of Monsters And Men, Ocean Colour Scene, as well as many other top acts who have had chart-topping success.
Of course the festival would not be complete without two major headline acts, and this year revellers are in for a treat with Beyonce and Kings Of Leon set to top the bill.
As if the bands and singers are not enough to keep everyone entertained, there will also be an array of market stalls to browse, films being shown and a fun fair for the thrill-seekers in the crowds.
The popular Glee Club Comedy Tent will also makes a return this year, with side-splitting performers lined up to have festival-goers in hysterics.
There will also be a large selection of food to tuck into, with lots of different style cuisines to be enjoyed and they can all be bought from the various catering vans on the site.
Festival directors Bob Angus, Simon Moran and Dennis Desmond said: “We’ve worked hard to bring fans an exciting and diverse line-up, securing Beyonce for an exclusive European Festival appearance and Kings of Leon as headliners is a great achievement. These acts along with one of the strongest bills in V Festival’s 18 year history is something we are very proud of.
“We have a reputation for bringing fans the best world class acts and breakthrough artists, 2013 is set to be another sensational year.”
