CHILDREN from two primary schools have had the honour of naming new roads at a housing development in Woodville.
Youngsters from Albert Village and Moira Primary Schools were invited by Ashby Woulds Town Council to suggest names for the new streets at the Treetops development.
The names chosen are Butterfly Gardens, Oakway Drive and Bluebell Grove.
Another new street has been named Windmill Close at the suggestion of Councillor John Perry, town council mayor, because a plan of the area in 1901 showed that there was formerly a windmill on the site of the street.
He said: "The children put a lot of thought into naming these streets and put forward some excellent suggestions.
"I thought Butterfly Gardens, Oakway Drive and Bluebell Grove were great."
