POLICE have revealed that a man and a woman have been bailed after they were arrested following a drugs raid in South Derbyshire.
Derbyshire Police revealed that the pair, both aged 37, were arrested on suspicion of producing a class B controlled drug after a durgs warrant was executed on Wednesday morning in Main Street, Etwall.
A total of 36 suspected cannabis plants were recovered alongside growing equipment after a search of a house and an outbuilding.
A spokesman for the force said: “The pair have been bailed pending further inquiries.”
PC Eileen Banton, who is a crime reduction officer based at Swadlincote Police Station, said: “This latest operation shows that the force is determined to drive out drug related crime and make the area safer. Drug set ups like this can bring about suffering and anxiety to innocent members of the public who live nearby and that is one of the major reasons we undertake operations like this, to make people safer and fell good about where they live.”
